Full-time students who pass all the taught modules during the main exam sessions will finish the programme at the end of September, when they submit their literature review/dissertation. Full-time students who successfully complete the taught modules in the August re-sit exam session will submit their literature review/dissertation in December.

The BSc Economics programme enables you to understand modern economics, which covers a wide range of topics from inflation to the control of monopoly power, from the study of developing countries to the finance of multinational companies.

Wireless internet is available throughout the LSE campus. You will also have access to the library including desktop computers and meeting rooms to work remotely.

The majority of graduates from the Business School follow their degree with a career in finance, banking, accounting or management both in the commercial and public sectors. A large number of graduate recruiters in these sectors visit Exeter to recruit our students. Some of our graduates pursue their interest in their studies to a greater depth by following a higher degree, often here at Exeter.

If you are not from the European Economic Area / Switzerland and you are coming to study in the UK, you may need to apply for a visa or entry clearance to come to the UK to study.

Pre-sessional activities covering Micro-and Macroeconomics, Stata, Excel, Probability and Mathematics run in September before the start of term. These are available for all students who secure a place on the MSc Economics course. Pre-sessionals are included in your degree fee and are designed to prepare you for the course. We therefore strongly encourage you to make every effort to attend. Dates of the sessions are as follows:

Companies and organisations are invited to meet our students and propose subjects for their dissertation to be done during a placement. Organisations and students liaise directly with the approval of the academic supervisor.

We receive a large number of applications from well-qualified applicants and may not be able to make offers to all those applicants who have achieved or are predicted to achieve grades in line with the typical offer shown above.

If you are from the EEA (European Economic Area), Norway or Switzerland you do not need a visa to study in the UK. Non-EEA students will normally need to obtain a Short Term Student visa in order to register on the programme. Please visit the LSE International Student Visa Advice Team's (ISVAT) website.
